The Atlanta duo is known for their tongue-in-cheek tracks anchored by a collage of diverse styles—ranging from lo-fi, bedroom pop, and EDM to cloud rap. On their new album Girl, they offer even more cheeky singalongs set to lightweight trap beats and mostly subdued club rhythms. It’s a fun album that feels simultaneously nostalgic and hyper-modern, like an audio scrapbook filled with unapologetic sass and meme culture. Many of the narratives on Girl revolve around navigating social dynamics with self-assurance, hedonism, and internet humor.

The track titled "Our House" is a nod to drum and bass, infused with ethereal female vocals, but it’s also a cover of a 1970s alt-rock song. They took the original and turned it into a sped-up, Purity Ring-esque track. "My Girl" also stands out because it sonically recalls early Crystal Castles—eerie, witchy vocals, retro beats, and buzzing synths that create an 8-bit sound aesthetic. The song "Graceland" features elements of a diss track: asserting alpha status, mocking imitators, and calling out others, but with a lighthearted, cheeky twist. Coco & Clair Clair aren’t bitter; in fact, they’re relishing the idea of having haters—“Didn't expect to already be a mother / Got an IUD, you bitches must've crawled under.”
Arguably the best track on the LP, "Aggy" perfectly concludes the album. It sounds like Coco & Clair Clair have just finished a friendship ritual and are now ready to go out on a Friday night, leaving negative vibes behind. The song captures everything infectious about their music—confident, playful rap-singing weaved into layered reverb and atmospheric production. Clair Clair chants in the chorus: “You bring the boys, I'll bring the girls / Have a couple drinks, forget about the world / All I know is I don’t / Wanna miss you anymore.” The duo doesn’t take themselves too seriously, but they are dead serious about having fun.
