Ringing in their first show of 2025, The Beaches hit the stage of their sold out Fallsview Casino performance with a vow for a great night ahead. Moving with the wave of their steady come up, the all-women Toronto band has been known to the city’s scene for a decade, amounting in Blame Brett’s momentous reception with the help of TikTok in the past year.
With the pre-show tracks amounting to a crescendo, the audience jumped to their feet to dance along to Chappell Roan’s Hot to Go moments before the show began. It’s evident just how in tune the ensemble is with the taste of their fans. Just a quick glance over the seats proves how young and queer the presence is despite the wide variety in age. Their discography of dancey pop tracks with sprinkles of rock instrumentation boasts appeal to the masses; it's no surprise their rise to pop-rock stardom is finally upon us.

This ensemble boasts the charm of carefree fun. Their joy onstage shines through the melding of their vocals in every harmony and in the playful gallops of their guitarists across the stage. Their punchy track Fascination reigning at the top of their setlist gave a taste of the dancing that would ensue through the night. Dedicated to a Jocelyn in the crowd, their newest single aptly named Jocelyn was a clear fan favorite. To round out the night the band teased a new song’s live debut only after searing through their plethora of hits.
Sharing the stage at the start of the night was Toronto’s own Alex Porat. The singer’s skipping around the stage exudes an energy as bubbly as her sound and as charming as her lyrics. A perfect compliment to the main act, Porat’s creative prowess is one cemented in pop with the sprinkle of a playful guitar tone. Together, the show was a pop-rock party with a crowd that refused to sit for even one track.
